ABOUT APRIL
Your Photographer
Natalie, my oldest daughter, took this picture.
Hello! Welcome to the About Me Page. I am April Hart and I'm 33 years old. 34 in July - eek! I am a wife to DJ, mother to two beautiful girls, Natalie and Haley. Spring is my favorite season followed by Fall. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love chocolate and could eat butter mints all day!
I have always loved photography. For as long as I can remember I've always had a camera in hand. It wasn't until 2006 - 2007 that I truly found my passion for photography when I was studying Graphic Arts and Design at Tennessee Technology Center. My intention was to be a Graphic Artist but they had Photography mixed in with the Graphic Design program. I bought my first DSLR a couple of months into the program. From there it has been true love, a passion, my baby.
In April of 2007 I graduate early from Tennessee Technology and got a photographic job. I started working at Portrait Innovations. I really enjoyed working there, learning new things, especially learning how to run a lab. A couple of years before working at Portrait Innovations I worked for Ashley's Nostalgic Portraiture in Dollywood, and after Portrait Innovations I worked for Kodak Imaging also located in Dollywood. I took a brief vacation from portraits to focus back on Graphic Design and went to work for Absolute Designs in 2008. Absolute Designs shut their doors close to the 2009 year.
I take great pride in my photography art and I'm not a shoot and burn photographer. I'm not quite sure what my specialty is just yet but I love photographing children, couples and maternity. This may change in the future as I further my skills. I do not like a lot of posing. I'm an on-location photographer and I shoot in natural light. Recently, as of Christmas 2012, I am experimenting with Studio Lightning, but not ready to take on the leap of Studio work.
To give back to the community I am apart of Yellow Ribbon Photographer's. Yellow Ribbon is a Non-Profit Organization for Military families. Please check the Yellow Ribbon page for more information.
